NevadaNano Submits MethaneTrack™ to US EPA Alternative Test Method Program for Methane Detection

MethaneTrack™ Submitted to EPA ATM

Reno, NV — [08/19/2025] — NevadaNano announced today that it has submitted its MethaneTrack™ continuous emissions monitoring system to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Alternative Test Method (ATM) program as a Periodic Screening method for leaks ≥1.0 kg/hr. This represents the smallest leak category accepted by the EPA, and MethaneTrack™ achieved performance results that surpass the agency’s requirements — setting a new benchmark in methane detection and compliance monitoring.

Submission highlights included:

  • 100% Probability of Detection (Pd) for leaks ≥1.0 kg/hr, exceeding the EPA’s 90% Pd goal.
  • No reliance on “wind favorability” metrics.
  • Fully automated system with no human intervention required to verify leaks.

MethaneTrack’s wide operating range, wireless design, and no-maintenance installation make it uniquely suited for rapid deployment across global oil and gas infrastructure. The submission underscores NevadaNano’s commitment to delivering scalable solutions that support compliance with EPA methane regulations, the European Union Methane Strategy, and OGMP 2.0 Level 4 and Level 5 standards.

“This milestone reflects our mission to empower operators with technology that makes compliance simpler, faster, and more reliable. MethaneTrack™ gives the industry the confidence it needs to meet rigorous EPA standards today while preparing for the next generation of methane reduction commitments,” said Ian Rogoff, CEO of NevadaNano.

A New Era of Monitoring

MethaneTrack™ is powered by NevadaNano’s Close-Proximity Continuous Monitoring™ (CPMC™) approach, which places intrinsically safe wireless detectors directly on or near equipment. Unlike fenceline or aerial solutions that “chase plumes,” MethaneTrack™ pinpoints emissions at the source, delivering real-time accuracy and actionable insights. Its Leak Source Isolation™ (LSI™) software further identifies the location and quantification of emissions, enabling operators to prioritize abatement and maximize reductions.
