THE MPS™ 5.0 FLAMMABLE GAS SENSOR
Pellistor Replacement Sensor
The MPS™ 5.0 flammable gas sensor is a poison-resistant, no-calibration sensor designed for easy drop-in replacement—with configurable analog output to mirror your existing sensor.

Pellistor Sensor Limitations
OEMs designing gas detection devices often encounter persistent reliability challenges tied to pellistor sensor limitations, including:
- Poisoning occurring when the sensor comes into contact with higher hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, esters, hydrogen sulfide and other sulfur containing compounds.
- Masking occurring when a non-target gas triggers a sensor, obscuring the true reading of the target gas.
- Saturation occurring when the sensor is exposed to a concentration of flammable gas that exceeds its designed measurement range appear to be working properly, yet fail to detect dangerous levels of gas, representing a significant safety risk.
- Frequent calibration required to maintain safety-critical accuracy, as they are prone to sensitivity drift, degradation over time.
- Single-gas bias occurring when calibration to one gas results in reduced accuracy when other flammable gases are present.
The MPS™ 5.0 Flammable Gas Sensor is a proven pellistor replacement flammable gas sensor that eliminates many of the fundamental limitations of catalytic bead technology.
MPS™ 5.0 FLAMMABLE GAS SENSOR
A Proven Pellistor Alternative—Without Changing Your Device Design
When used in analog-only mode, the MPS™ 5.0 flammable gas sensor functions as a true catalytic bead sensor replacement, while delivering modern performance benefits:
- Inherently poison-resistant design eliminates failure from common contaminants
- No calibration required over the sensor’s 15+ year lifetime
- Stable, accurate %LEL output across methane and other flammable gases
- Intrinsically safe flammable gas sensor, certified for hazardous environments
- IEC 60079-29-1 compliant gas sensor, suitable for global safety standards
The MPS™ 5.0 Flammable Gas Sensor is a proven pellistor replacement flammable gas sensor that eliminates many of the fundamental limitations of catalytic bead technology.
