Advanced flammable gas sensing technology brings maintenance-free performance and early battery thermal runaway detection to gas detection systems for underground parking garages and battery energy storage applications.

Reno, Nevada — July 31, 2026 — NevadaNano, the world’s leading innovator in MEMS-based gas sensing technology, today announced that Dalemans, a leading provider of gas detection systems in Belgium and the Benelux region, has integrated the NevadaNano MPS™ Flammable Gas Sensor into its gas detection product portfolio.

The collaboration combines Dalemans’ decades of expertise in gas detection system design and deployment with NevadaNano’s patented Molecular Property Spectrometer™ (MPS™) technology to deliver highly reliable flammable gas detection for commercial and industrial safety applications. The integrated solutions are designed for environments including underground parking garages, HVAC installations, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), where reliable gas detection is becoming increasingly important.

Unlike conventional catalytic bead sensors, the MPS™ sensor delivers accurate, calibration-free flammable gas detection while remaining immune to sensor poisoning, resistant to drift, and capable of maintaining performance throughout its 15-year operational life. These capabilities reduce maintenance requirements while improving long-term reliability and lowering total cost of ownership.

A major focus of the collaboration is enhancing safety around lithium-ion batteries by enabling earlier detection of battery thermal runaway events.
As lithium-ion batteries begin to fail, they release characteristic flammable gases well before smoke, fire, or catastrophic failure occurs. The MPS™ sensor can detect these early gas signatures, providing valuable time for facility operators to initiate safety procedures, protect occupants, and help prevent escalation.

This capability makes the technology well suited for applications including:

  • Battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Electric vehicle charging infrastructure
