Sr. Full-Stack Software Engineer

Join NevadaNano and develop state-of-the-art gas sensing systems that help control global warming and keep people safe! NevadaNano is a fast-paced, small business that has developed patented gas sensing technologies used to control emissions of greenhouse gases and alert people to dangerous situations. NevadaNano is seeking a Sr. Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and deploying web applications for both internal stake holders and external clients. This successful candidate will partner with existing sensor engineering and manufacturing teams to define, develop, and deliver the next generation of software projects to support growth.


  • Lead the development of the next generation of sensor manufacturing software system (frontend and backend).
  • Create integration modules and abstract APIs to pass data to and from systems using multiple RESTful APIs.
  • Define and deliver software projects for engineering, manufacturing, and quality by working closely with cross-functional teams (electrical, mechanical, firmware, sensor engineering, manufacturing, and quality).
  • Serve as a focal point for software knowledge and share expertise throughout the rapidly growing team and company. 
  • Deliver high-quality code and supporting documentation.

Qualifications Required:

  • 5+ years in full-stack software development.
  • Hands on experience with common relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, React or React Native.
  • Proficiency in PHP or Python and exposure to IoT messaging protocols like MQTT
  • Familiarity with Cloud based platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Design thinking, focus on test-driven development and web security best practices.
  • Familiar with software development cycle including software architecture, code development, verification, validation, and quality assurance.
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Desirable Skills:

  • Working knowledge of common serial communications protocols: UART, I2C, SPI.
  • DevOps and/or automation experience in code testing, building, and deployment.
  • Bonus points for Linux Administrator experience.
